Dear Friends of the Carmel Central School District:
With the help of staff, students, parents and community members over the past three years we have developed a strategic plan that now serves as the blueprint for change and a framework for decision-making. This framework includes a new district mission statement, as well as a vision statement, core values, mission outcomes and identified strategies (https://www.carmelschools.org/about)
As we continue to implement aspects of the strategic plan, we are once again asking for involvement from our community. That is why we invite you to attend our upcoming Carmel Café, scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
The Carmel Cafe is designed to engage our community in dialogue about your thoughts, hopes and ideas about the school district. This year, we will once again host two sessions and you may choose to attend the session from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in Casey Hall at Carmel High School or one from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Kent Elementary School.
Please RSVP by OCTOBER 25, 2018 by sending an email to sdieck@carmelschools.org If you plan to attend, indicate your choice for the morning or evening session. You may also send/fax your RSVP using the attached form, which can be returned to Sue Dieck at the address/fax# below.
I thank you in advance for your participation in this important event.

If you are unhappy with the way your school photos turned out, keep the group class photo, return the rest of the envelope, and have your student ready to take their photo on Wednesday, November 7th.
Students are invited to shop at the School Store in the MPES Lobby after they have finished their lunch. All items are under $1. Please do not send your student with more than $5.
We need parent volunteers at school store. If you would like to sign up, please click the link below:
All senior citizens are welcome to attend the Thanksgiving Luncheons held at all CCSD schools. If you would like to attend, please call the District Office at 845-878-2094.
The circus is coming to town! The National Circus Project will once again be returning to MPES on November 26th through November 30th. There will be an evening performance by our fourth graders on Friday, November 30th at George Fischer Middle School.
Each year our students look forward to learning from the performers who spend the week teaching them circus “skills.” Our fourth graders benefit the most from the circus through self-esteem building and goal reaching as their experience culminates in an evening performance to proudly show off their accomplishments for friends and family.
Many of you are familiar with the assemblies and workshops the performers and students participate in, but as a fourth grader this year your child will learn to perfect their skills in what is known as target time during school. Target time allows your child to practice and strengthen their particular skill to get them ready for Friday night’s performance.
